Hi, I'm Tori

I’m a lover of all things “baby.” I live to nurture the tiny humans around us, all of whom will one day take over and care for us in return. I nurture my own “tiny human” around the clock, and care for the tiniest of humans at work. I’m a proud Neonatal ICU nurse and would choose no job over it. There’s something so intimate and fragile about the work we do, and we get to be a part of things most people never will. We see life, death, celebration, hardship, pain, relief, bonding, and everything in between. But something I love most about my job is getting to be a part of the happy “firsts” between a mommy and her baby. The first hold, the first diaper change, first bath, first breastfeed. I live for those moments.

I find the bond between mom and baby to be immensely intriguing, as I do pregnancy and birth. And after birth, mom’s body continues to provide the absolute best nourishment for her baby, breast milk. It is fascinating how many benefits breastfeeding has for both mom and baby. I believe that knowledge is power and want all moms to be able to have this opportunity. I see countless women struggle for a variety of reasons in regards to breastfeeding, and my NICU mommies often have that on another level. I enjoy helping moms through this journey, and if my blog can help even one more person, I’m happy to do it. I am NOT a lactation consultant, so my information is based solely on my own personal research. However, I do work alongside lactation consultants in the NICU and therefore have great insight from them. I have also gained my own stash of tips/tricks while nursing my daughter for the last 3 years, so I’d like to believe that that’s knowledge worth sharing as well.

Happy nursing, happy pumping, happy mommy, happy baby!
